Astra's Portfolio Manager Shikha Gupta featured on CNBC Squawk Box Europe this morning, providing her perspective on the Fed and BoE's decision to hold rates, the credit markets reaction to the AI sector's capital expenditure and the UK housing market.
"Credit and Equity are very different investing styles. Investment Grade credit markets are looking for their coupon and principal to get paid, and they do not like the kind of volatility that the current spread market is offering. Some of the Investment Grade companies spread has doubled, if not tripled, in the past year, which implies a very significant price move. On top of this, there are other technical factors that come into play when it comes to debt investing, like sector concentration, issuer concentration and any potential rating migration that is on the way."
