Astra sources opportunities with predictable, stable cash flows and solid collateral and takes advantage of low liability costs for financing cash flow generating assets through direct origination. These investments typically have in-built structural features to protect creditor returns and ascertain return realization. Investments are medium term in nature and usually have a high return on capital invested.

The current market provides many lending opportunities that do not meet the criteria of traditional lenders like banks. Very few buy side firms have the ability to offer bespoke financing solutions for borrowers with non-standard needs. Banks often need underwriting partners like asset managers before they get involved in specialty financing solutions.

Some opportunities in direct origination require a longer time horizon in which case they are ideally suited for Astra’s Private Credit Fund.
